A 55-year-old rock climber is dead after falling 100 feet into a gorge at Smith Rock State Park, around 10 o’clock this morning. Jim Anglin, of White Salmon, Washington was descending a steep climbers trail in the southeast portion of the park when he lost his footing and fell. Deschutes County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue and Paramedics from Redmond Fire and Rescue determined Anglin was dead at the scene. Two other climbers with Anglin were not injured.
