Group spokesman says ordinance will slash property values.
- by Steve Coffee / Dave Adams

Ed Criss of the Citizen’s Action Group of southern Deschutes County says the Board of Commissioners has destroyed the real estate market in the southern portion of the county. He was reacting to an ordinance approved Wednesday that requires all new construction – and existing properties that make changes – to install special septic systems to prevent nitrates from leaching into the ground water. He says his group will be meeting Friday morning to discuss their options.
