Deschutes County Commissioners on Monday will consider signing a new Mutual Aide Agreement with nine surrounding counties. It isn’t your usual law enforcement agreement to back up each other on busy nights. This new document will replace an old agreement created in 2006 that binds the 10 counties to assist each other in case of a Public Health Emergency, such as a disease outbreak or flu epidemic. The updated agreement is necessary to comply with changes to state requirements.
